Caste Reservation in India
Caste Reservation is something, which has not been dealt seriously so far in India. Because of the improper planning by our constitution it has screwed the major part of our system.
Caste Reservation was started so that people belonging to backward caste don't get deprived of their rights like education, better employement, etc. And it has worked for many of them and it has raised the standard of living of these people.
Some of the people belonging to reservation category now have attained a better standard of living and are living a better life. But they still use their reservation rights. Due to this many other backward caste people are still deprived of education because of the shortage of seats. Our government then tries to increase the reservation seats due to which unreserved class people face problems. Their seats are getting affected and they curse these reservation caste people.
This have increased the discrimination and hatred between reserved class and unreserved class. So neither the backward cast people are getting benefited nor the unreserved class people. The unreserved class people then feel that they are denied of their rights. For eg. A student belonging to unreserved class does not get admission in good college inspite of attaining good marks, because of less number of seats. Instead a student belonging to reserved class with less marks gets admission inspite of the fact that his family can now afford all luxuries.
I think it would be better if we judge the reserved class people whether they really need the reservation, based on their annual income and the way of living. If they have attained the state of living a better life then we should cancel their reservation so that someone who really needs the reservation can benefit from it.
I believe it is big time that our government starts thinking about it and come up with better ideas for reservation.
